In-House Termite Fumigation by Our Own Licensed Crew

When a drywood termite infestation is severe or spreads across multiple areas of your home, tent fumigation is the most effective way to eliminate every colony, guaranteed. Unlike localized treatments that target specific spots, whole-house fumigation reaches every crack, crevice, wall cavity, and piece of wood in your home, ensuring no colony is left behind.

What sets Royal Pest & Termite apart is that we perform every fumigation ourselves.

When Is Termite Tenting the Right Choice?

Not every termite problem requires fumigation. For localized drywood infestations in a specific area, no-tent treatment can be effective and less disruptive. But there are situations where tenting is the best, or only, option:

  • The infestation is widespread across multiple areas of the home (attic, walls, multiple rooms)
  • Multiple drywood termite colonies are present in different locations

  • Previous localized treatments haven't fully resolved the problem
  • A termite inspection reveals extensive activity that can't be reached with spot treatments
  • You want the most thorough, guaranteed elimination possible

How Our Termite Fumigation Process Works

From your first call to ongoing protection, here's what to expect when you partner with Royal Pest & Termite.

Free Inspection & Consultation

Our licensed termite inspector performs a comprehensive visual inspection of your home's interior and exterior. We identify the type of termite, the extent of the infestation, and confirm that fumigation is the right treatment method. We'll walk you through the entire process, answer your questions, and provide a clear estimate — all before you commit to anything.

Pre-Fumigation Preparation

We provide you with a detailed preparation checklist before your fumigation date and walk you through every step so nothing gets missed. Preparation is important for both the effectiveness of the treatment and the safety of your household.

Tenting & Sealing

On the first day of treatment, our crew arrives with its own equipment to set up a tent in your home. We drape heavy-duty tarps over the entire structure and seal them tightly at the ground level. This creates an airtight enclosure that ensures the fumigant gas reaches every part of your home, every wall cavity, attic space, crack, and pinhole, so no termite colony escapes treatment.

Fumigation

Once the tent is sealed, our licensed crew leader conducts a thorough walkthrough and activates a tear gas warning agent as a safety precaution. We then release the fumigant gas, which replaces the air inside your home and is pressed into every gap, crack, and crevice where termites may be hiding.

How Much Does Termite Tenting Cost?

The cost of termite fumigation depends on several factors specific to your home. Because each property is different, we provide customized estimates after a free inspection rather than one-size-fits-all pricing. One thing worth knowing: because we perform all fumigation in-house with our own crew and equipment, there's no third-party markup built into your price.

Home size (cubic footage)

Fumigation pricing is based on cubic footage rather than square footage because the gas needs to fill the entire volume of the structure. Your home's footprint, ceiling height, and number of stories all factor in.

Roof pitch

Steeper roof pitches increase the total cubic footage that needs to be treated, which affects the amount of fumigant required.

Crawl spaces

If your home has a crawl space, it increases the total volume and requires additional gas to ensure full penetration.

Accessibility

Factors like attached structures, shared walls (townhomes/duplexes), heavy landscaping, or difficult site access can affect the complexity of the tenting process.

Severity of infestation

While the fumigation process itself is the same regardless of severity, our inspector uses the assessment to ensure the correct dosage and exposure time for complete elimination.

The best way to get an accurate cost for your home is to schedule a free inspection. Our inspector will measure your property, assess the situation, and provide a detailed estimate with no obligation.

Just had a No Tent Termite Service completed today. I live in Miramar and wanted to use a local company. I am very satisfied. The process began 2 weeks ago with their Sales Representative Aaron Wilton. I am in sales so I recognize a professional. He was knowledgeable and presented options clearly without pressure including attractive payment terms. The 2 techs who preformed the service were Greg and Michael who were polite, through and efficient. I would certainly recommend Royal Pest.

Termite Fumigation FAQs for South Florida Homeowners

Do you do your own fumigation or subcontract it out?
We perform every fumigation in-house with our own licensed crew and equipment. We never subcontract fumigation work to third parties. This means you work with one team from inspection through clearance — one point of contact, one company responsible for the results. Many pest control companies in Broward County outsource their fumigation, which can lead to scheduling delays, communication issues, and less accountability.
How long does termite fumigation take?
The entire process typically takes about 2-4 days from tenting to clearance. Day one: we tent and seal your home and begin fumigation. Day two: aeration — opening the home and allowing the gas to evacuate for 6 to 8 hours as required by Florida law. Day three: tent removal, off-gassing, and final safety clearance by a licensed crew member. You can typically return by the end of the third day or the beginning of the fourth. Because we use our own crew, there's no waiting on a subcontractor's schedule.
How much does termite tenting cost?
Cost depends on your home’s cubic footage, roof pitch, whether you have a crawl space, and the complexity of the tenting setup. Because we don’t subcontract, there’s no middleman markup in your price — you’re paying for the actual work. The best way to get an accurate number is to schedule a free inspection. We’ll measure your property and provide a detailed, no-obligation estimate.
Is termite fumigation safe for pets?
All pets must be removed during fumigation. However, once our licensed crew member clears the home for reentry, it is completely safe for dogs, cats, and all other pets to return. The fumigant dissipates fully during aeration and leaves no residue on surfaces, carpets, or furnishings. Our company was named after the owner’s dog — we take pet safety seriously at every stage.
How long after fumigation is it safe to return home?
You can return once a licensed crew member performs the final safety clearance, typically on the third day. Aeration takes 6 to 8 hours as required by law, followed by additional off-gassing after tent removal. We never clear a home until we’ve verified it meets all safety standards. You’ll receive direct confirmation from our team when it’s safe.
Will fumigation kill other bugs besides termites?
Yes. The fumigant penetrates the entire structure and will eliminate most insects present inside your home, including cockroaches, ants, bed bugs, spiders, and other pests. While this is a welcome side benefit, fumigation is specifically designed and dosed for termite elimination.
