Professional Spider Pest Control for South Florida Homes
Spiders are among the most common complaints homeowners in South Florida have about the exterior of their
homes. Webs appear overnight around doors, windows, garage openings, eaves,
porch lights, and anywhere insects gather. Beyond being unsightly, some spider
species in Broward County can bite and cause painful reactions, and large
populations of spiders around your home's entrances make coming and going unpleasant.
What Attracts Spiders to Your Property
Moisture: Many spider species prefer moist environments. Leaky faucets, A/C condensation, over-irrigated landscaping, and poor drainage create conditions that attract both spiders and the insects they eat.
Dense Landscaping: Thick shrubs, hedges, and vegetation close to your home provide an ideal habitat for spiders. Orb weavers build webs between branches, and ground-dwelling spiders like wolf spiders use dense ground cover for hunting.
Clutter and Sheltered Areas:
Garages, storage areas, woodpiles, and areas with accumulated items provide
dark, undisturbed hiding spots that spiders, including brown widows and black
widows, prefer for nesting.

Spider Control FAQs
How do I get rid of spiders around my house?
The most effective approach is professional quarterly spider treatment. We remove existing webs and apply a repellent barrier that discourages spiders from rebuilding. Between treatments, reducing outdoor lighting (or switching to yellow bug lights), keeping landscaping trimmed away from the house, and addressing other insect populations all help reduce spider activity. DIY sprays provide temporary relief but don't offer the consistent, overlapping protection that a quarterly treatment plan provides.
Are there brown recluse spiders in Florida?
No. Brown recluse spiders are not established in South Florida. Their natural range is the central and southern Midwest, and they do not have established populations in Broward County. While an occasional brown recluse may arrive in shipped goods or relocated belongings, you won't find brown recluse colonies in Florida homes.
Are any spiders in South Florida dangerous?
The two venomous species found in Broward County are the black widow and the brown widow. Both can deliver painful bites that may require medical attention, though fatalities are extremely rare. Black widows are less common but more venomous; brown widows have become increasingly prevalent in South Florida and tend to nest in sheltered areas where people reach without looking, under furniture, inside mailboxes, and in garage door tracks. Our spider treatment helps reduce the population of all spider species around your home, including these venomous ones.
