Professional Bed Bug Extermination for South Florida Homes

Finding bed bugs in your home is one of the most stressful pest situations you can face. They hide in mattress seams, behind headboards, inside furniture, along baseboards, and in cracks you didn't know existed. They come out at night to feed, leave behind bites that itch for days, and reproduce quickly enough to turn a small problem into a full infestation within weeks. And unlike most pests, bed bugs don't respond to store-bought sprays or home remedies.

At Royal Pest & Termite, we treat bed bugs with a thorough, multi-visit protocol designed to eliminate every life stage, adults, nymphs, and eggs.

How to Tell If You Have Bed Bugs

Bed bugs are experts at hiding, so most people discover an infestation through the signs they leave behind rather than seeing the bugs themselves. Here's what to look for:

Bites in Lines or Clusters

Bed bug bites typically appear as small, red, itchy welts in a line or cluster pattern, often called "breakfast, lunch, and dinner" because bed bugs tend to bite multiple times in a row as they feed.

Dark Stains on Sheets/Mattress

Small, dark brown or reddish-black stains on your sheets, pillowcases, or mattress are a common sign of bed bug activity.

Shed Skins

As bed bugs grow from nymphs to adults, they shed their exoskeletons at each life stage. These shed skins are translucent, light brown, and roughly the shape of the bed bug itself.

Live Bed Bugs

Adult bed bugs are flat, oval-shaped, and about the size of an apple seed. They're reddish-brown (darker after feeding) and wingless. Bed bugs do not fly or jump.

Musty Odor

A heavy bed bug infestation can produce a noticeable sweet, musty odor, sometimes described as smelling like coriander or overripe berries.

If you're seeing any of these signs, call for a professional bed bug inspection. Early treatment is critical; bed bugs reproduce rapidly, and a small problem today becomes a major infestation within weeks.

Multi-Visit Chemical Treatment

From your first call to ongoing protection, here's what to expect when you partner with Royal Pest & Termite.

Week 1: Initial Treatment

Our technicians work top to bottom through your home, treating every area where bed bugs live and hide. We disassemble beds and treat every side of each mattress, box spring, and bed frame. We treat closets, walls, baseboards, furniture seams, nightstands, and other harborage areas.

Week 2: Second Application

We return seven days later to reapply treatments. This visit targets any bed bugs that were in the egg stage during the first treatment and have since hatched. Bed bug eggs are resistant to most insecticides, which is why a single treatment is rarely enough to eliminate an infestation.

Week 3: Third Application

A third application, seven days later, provides a final sweep that catches any remaining stragglers and ensures the insect growth regulator has had time to break the reproductive cycle completely. By the end of the three-week protocol, all life stages have been addressed.

Bed Bug Fumigation

For severe bed bug infestations or situations where chemical treatment alone may not reach every hiding spot, we highly recommend fumigation. Tent fumigation is the most effective bed bug treatment available because the gas penetrates into every crack, crevice, wall void, and piece of furniture in the structure. Nothing escapes treatment, regardless of where bed bugs are hiding.

We perform all fumigation in-house with our own licensed crew and equipment. We do not subcontract fumigation work, which means faster scheduling, one team handling every step, and no middleman markup in the price.

Just had a No Tent Termite Service completed today. I live in Miramar and wanted to use a local company. I am very satisfied. The process began 2 weeks ago with their Sales Representative Aaron Wilton. I am in sales so I recognize a professional. He was knowledgeable and presented options clearly without pressure including attractive payment terms. The 2 techs who preformed the service were Greg and Michael who were polite, through and efficient. I would certainly recommend Royal Pest.

Bed Bug Treatment FAQs

How much does bed bug treatment cost?
The cost depends on the size of your home, the number of rooms affected, and whether chemical treatment or fumigation is needed. Our standard 3-week chemical treatment protocol includes three visits with full interior treatment. Fumigation is more expensive but provides the most thorough elimination for severe infestations. We provide a detailed estimate after inspecting your home so you know exactly what to expect.
How much does bed bug fumigation cost?
Fumigation pricing is based on your home’s cubic footage, similar to termite fumigation. We perform all fumigation in-house with our own crew, so there’s no third-party markup. We’ll measure your home during the inspection and provide an accurate estimate. For many severe infestations, fumigation is actually the most cost-effective option because it guarantees complete elimination in a single treatment rather than multiple follow-up visits.
How do I know if I have bed bugs or fleas?
Bed bug bites typically appear on the upper body (arms, shoulders, neck, face) and often form lines or clusters. Flea bites concentrate around the ankles and lower legs. Bed bug bites are usually larger, redder, and more swollen than flea bites. You can also check for other signs: bed bugs leave dark stains on sheets and shed skins in mattress seams, while fleas are associated with pets and leave tiny black droppings (flea dirt) on pet bedding. If you’re unsure, we can inspect and identify the pest for you.
Do bed bugs fly?
No. Bed bugs do not fly or jump. They crawl. They move from place to place by hitchhiking on luggage, clothing, furniture, and other items that are transported between locations. This is how bed bugs spread between homes, hotels, and apartments, not by flying or jumping. Inside your home, they crawl between their hiding spots and your bed at night to feed.
Why do bed bug treatments require multiple visits?
Bed bug eggs are highly resistant to insecticides. A single treatment kills the adults and nymphs on contact, but the eggs survive and hatch within 7 to 10 days. If you don’t treat again after the eggs hatch, the newly emerged nymphs will grow, reproduce, and restart the infestation. Our 3-week protocol with weekly visits ensures that each generation of newly hatched bed bugs is eliminated before they can lay new eggs.
When should I choose fumigation over chemical treatment?
Fumigation is recommended when the infestation is severe, has been present for a long time, affects multiple rooms or the entire home, or when previous chemical treatments haven’t fully resolved the problem. Fumigation reaches bed bugs in places that chemical treatments may not fully penetrate, deep inside wall voids, behind built-in furniture, and in structural crevices. For complete peace of mind, fumigation guarantees that nothing survives.
